Problem Note 59131: Promoted SAS® BI Dashboard indicators might display "ERROR: The indicator configuration is missing"

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

Promoted SAS BI Dashboard indicators might display the following error:

ERROR: The indicator configuration is missing. The indicator has been reconstructed using its definition. However, some configuration data was not recovered.

This error can occur even though the appropriate indicator configuration file does exist in the target environment.

When this problem occurs, the export log often contains warnings about missing dependent objects. Here is an example of a warning that you might see:

INFO - ******** Analyzing Objects ******** WARN - One or more dependent objects, e.g. /Shared Data/Dashboards/Components/TeamData.imx are missing from this export

There are two ways to prevent this error from occurring:

  • Create the export package in batch with the -includeDep option. Next, import all of the SAS BI Dashboard objects together in the same import step.
  • Resolve all dependent object warnings in the export log. This is an iterative process because the export log might not display a warning for all of the missing dependent objects. You must resolve the missing objects as they are identified in the export log. Keep creating export packages using SAS® Management Console until the log no longer displays any warnings. When the export log no longer shows any warnings, you can attempt to import the package.
